Meet Melissa Bailey
With more than 33 years of bookkeeping and accounting experience, Melissa built her career around one thing: helping businesses make sense of their numbers. She created Melchris Bookkeeping to give small-business owners experienced, dependable financial support without the cost of adding another employee to their payroll.
Where It All Began
Melissa's bookkeeping career began in 1993, when she earned her Associate degree in Accounting and took her first bookkeeping position with a car dealership. But her foundation in accounting started before bookkeeping software did the work for us.
She learned accounting the old-fashioned way—on paper ledgers, working through T-accounts and carrying everything into the
General Ledger until it balanced. And she loved it.
There was something incredibly satisfying about seeing every
debit and credit fall into place.
More than three decades later, the technology has changed dramatically, but the fundamentals haven't. Good bookkeeping still comes down to understanding what the numbers mean, where they belong, and making sure everything balances.
Why I Created Melchris Bookkeeping
After more than three decades in bookkeeping and accounting, Melissa knows how easily the financial side of running a business can become overwhelming.
